"Everybody Matters" Chapter 10: Cultivating Responsible Freedom

Our purpose is to collectively define the ideals behind being "People Centric." We aim to share best practices and learn from each other as to how best we, as leaders, can become a catalyst in the lives of the people we serve.

Read chapter 10, think through your answers, then discuss them with your leadership team. We ask you to share a summary of your thoughts and insights.  Our goal is to create a learning environment where we can all benefit from each other’s perspectives.

Post your comments to the questions below:

What potential would you bring to your team if you were entrusted with the freedom and responsibility to work in your own unique and creative way? How about others on your team? How can greater trust lead to responsible freedom within your organization?

How does your organization encourage or discourage these behaviors? How are they exhibited by yourself and others in your organization? How might you build an environment of responsible freedom?

How might a leader enlarge the capacity for responsible freedom within an organization? How have you seen this type of leadership practiced before?

What fires motivate you in your day-to-day life? How might you share this fire with others and help them discover their own fires?
