"ON FIRE" Chapter 6: WHAT MORE CAN YOU DO?

Chapter 6: WHAT MORE CAN YOU DO?

Our purpose is to collectively define the ideals behind being "People Centric." We aim to share best practices and learn from each other as to how best we, as leaders, can become a catalyst in the lives of the people we serve.

Read Chapter 6, think through your answers, then discuss them with your leadership team. We ask you to share a summary of your thoughts and insights.  Our goal is to create a learning environment where we can all benefit from each other’s perspectives.

Post your comments to the questions below:

1. John's tone throughout "On Fire" is frank, honest, and even humorous at times.
 a. Why do you think John is able to reflect, years later, on his painful experience with this kind of wit and good spirit?
  b. Can you think of a time in your life when humor made a difficult situation more bearable/relatable?

2. John shares another story about Glenn Cunningham and his wife Ruth on their ranch(pages 178-181).
 a. What would your reaction be if someone asked you and your spouse to take in their child as if your own?
 b. Has there been a time in your life when you asked "What more can I do?" and what was the story/results behind it?

Success V. Significance
At the end of Chapter 6, we are asked the following question: "What more can I do?"

We would like to hear your responses to that discussion topic and see how other people are feeling. This will help us see the gaps in what is missing from being "People Centric."
