"Everybody Matters" Chapter 3: Growing the Human Journey

Our purpose is to collectively define the ideals behind being "People Centric." We aim to share best practices and learn from each other as to how best we, as leaders, can become a catalyst in the lives of the people we serve.

Read chapter 3, think through your answers, then discuss them with your leadership team. We ask you to share a summary of your thoughts and insights.  Our goal is to create a learning environment where we can all benefit from each other’s perspectives.

Post your comments to the questions below:

How do you measure success in your life? Does your measure of success differ in your personal and professional lives? What other principles guide your life?

Have you seen this lived out in your work experience? How might this principle be incorporated into leadership and business practice?

What difference is there in managing problems and inspiring people to solve them? Which type of environment would you prefer to work in?

How are you enabling, or possibly restricting, the people within your span of care to be the best they can be? How have you felt empowered or restricted by others? What structures and systems are in place that cause these effects?

Do you truly agree with this statement? What happens when caring for people seems directly opposed to covering costs and making a profit?
